FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash and BACS transfer.  For most jobs full payment should be made upon completion. A payment schedule will be drawn up for large projects and generally materials are paid for as and when required.

How much notice do you need to start work on my carpentry project?

As much as possible - We can then put your job in the diary and schedule it in. However if you are not able to give much notice, we may still be able to help you out depending on the work we have on at the time.

What happens if you’re charging me a day rate and the job takes less time than you thought?

The best option would be to ask me to do some other repairs around the house or flat, for example fixing a lock, or repairing a door, so that you use my time in the most cost effective way.

I’ve got a list of jobs that need doing around the house. Can you help?

Why not write down everything that needs attention then give me a call. I will spend as long as needed to get these jobs done.

What’s your hourly rate?

My hourly rate is £50 for first hour then £30 per hour therafter* Day rate is £180* * excluding material, congestion charge & parking

What area do you cover?

I am based in South West London and cover all areas of London (including the congestion charging zone), Greater London and the home counties. I tend to work locally due to referrals from people in the area, however I am willing to travel if required.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes, if you want I can give you an estimate or a quote. Just email me some rough dimensions and a sketch and ideally some pictures of the area you have in mind and I can get a quote very quickly by email. Or we can schedule a design visit to discuss your requirements in more detail after which a written quotation can be drawn up for your review.
